Registration Registration and the payment of fees are required of all students who attend classes. No student may register who has not been approved for admission. Registration is A graduate student shall be required to be registered for at least one course appropriate to the student's degree objective in order to have access to computer equipment, laboratories, library, advisement, and other University facilities and resources even if the student is working in absentia. A graduate student shall be enrolled during the term in which the degree is awarded unless all requirements have been completed by the last day to register. Fee Billings Specific fee billing dates for each semester are included in the online calendar. No fee billings will be issued for early registration, regular registration, or late registration. You may determine the balance due on your account using Eagle Online, or you may contact the Business Office at (931) 372-3311. Students are expected to pay immediately after completion of course selection. Payment/Confirmation Deadlines The early registration fee payment/enrollment confirmation deadline is listed in the University calendar. Payments and confirmations not received by the deadline date will result in cancellation of your schedule. Fees for summer semester regular registration must be paid and enrollment confirmed by the last day to register for the term. Students registering for a combination of terms within summer semester must pay all fees for their complete schedule by the earliest applicable deadline. Fees for regular registration must be paid and enrollment confirmed by the last day to register for the term. A late registration fee of $100.00 will be assessed for fee payments and confirmations made after regular registration day. Fee Payment Fees must be paid in full, or other payment arrangements approved, by the deadline to avoid schedule cancellation. Fee payment using VISA, Master Card, or Discover is available via Eagle Online (Web). Fees may be paid directly to the Business Office cashiers, by dropping your payment into the Student Payment Depository outside the Business Office, or by mailing your payment along with the billing stub to the Business Office, Box 5037, Cookeville, TN 38505. Payments by mail must be received in the Business Office by the deadline date. Deferring Payment Deferment of payment for registration fees, dormitory rent and meal plan is available through the Business Office for individuals meeting program requirements. For more information about the deferred plan, contact the Business Office Accounts Receivable section at (931) 372-3311. Enrollment Confirmation If your fees are fully covered by a scholarship, graduate assistantship, or other financial aid, you must still confirm your enrollment by the deadline in order to retain your schedule. Enrollment may be confirmed via Eagle Online, by directly notifying a Business Office cashier, or in person at the Business Office. Failure to confirm enrollment by the deadline will result in schedule cancellation. Students who pay fees and confirm enrollment but decide not to attend must withdraw by notifying the Office of Student Affairs (931) 372-3411, FAX (931) 372-6335. Identification Cards Each student is required to obtain an identification card during registration. The Eagle Card is considered an official document and may be obtained through the Eagle Card Office. Vehicle Registration All vehicles parking on campus by full-time, part-time students, or night-time students must display a parking permit. Vehicles will be issued permits for specific parking areas, and compliance with all rules and regulations is required. Parking restrictions are effective in parking lots from 7:45 a.m. until 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Permits purchased in the fall semester are valid through the following summer semester. Official Enrollment Credit will be granted only for courses which appear on the student's official registration card in the Office of Records and Registration. Change of Course A student may drop a course or add a course after registration by obtaining the approval of the advisor for the course to be added or dropped, subject to approval of the Office of Records and Registration. The last date for students to add or drop a course is announced in the online calendar. A course is not officially added to or removed from a student's schedule until the change of schedule card is completed and returned to the Office of Records and Registration. A graduate student may drop a course during the time period posted in the online calendar with a grade of "W." Only in case of an unavoidable circumstance may a student officially drop a course later than the date announced in the calendar. A student dropping a course with permission from the Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, having established the existence of unavoidable circumstances, may receive a grade of "W" if passing at the time of the drop or a grade of "WF" if failing. A student who is officially registered in a course and who fails to attend a class will receive a grade of "NF." One who discontinues attendance without official withdrawal will receive a grade of "F" in the course. Transcript of Academic Records A student may obtain a transcript of his or her academic records by making a written request to the Office of Records and Registration, Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, Tennessee 38505.
