Constructed in 1967, Brown Hall is named in honor of James Seay Brown, former chairperson of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Brown Hall is the home of the departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and the Center for Manufacturing Research.
