Tryout Information and Audition Requirements
Tryouts June 7th & June 8th

Tryout Packet

1. Application (Download Tryout application (PDF)
2. Full body picture and head shot
3. proof of acceptance to TTU – copy of acceptance letter, letter from advisor and student ID
4. $20 processing fee please make checks to TTU Golden Girls Dance Team
5. Please mail tryout packet to the following address:

All tryout packets need to be in by June 2nd, 2008.
Requirements for the TTU Golden Girls Dance Team
• Right/Left/Center splits
• Heel Stretches
• Pirouettes (turns)
• Leap in 2nd position
• Switch leap of choice
• Toe Touch
• C-jump
• Front Leg Extensions
• Pique Turns
• Fouette Turns
• Grand Jete Series (straight leaps)
• Right / Left kicks

Dancers will learn two short dances one jazz and one hip hop

Attire for tryouts: all dancers auditioning need to wear a sports bra (long or 1⁄2 & shorts (no baggy loose clothing).

TENTATIVE TRYOUT SCHEDULE

Saturday June 7th 
9:00-9:15am        Stretch
9:15-9:45am        Technique demonstration
9:45-10:30am      Hip Hop audition piece
10:30-11:30am    Jazz audition piece
11:30-12:00pm    Review
12:00-12:30pm    Lunch

Sunday June 8th              

12-1pm             Open floor (we will run the music for both pieces
& dancers can do them again and again for practice if needed)

1pm                      Interviews begin & immediately following interviews tryouts begin.

Results will be posted on the front door of the fitness center on Sunday immediately following tryouts as well as on the website at www.tntech.edu/goldengirls.  There will be a mandatory meeting on June 8th at 7pm for all members of the 2008-09 TTU Golden Girls Dance Team.
