The Master of Science degree program in Biology at Tennessee Tech
prepares graduates for high-level careers in various areas of biology.
You'll have the option of selecting from a variety of thesis research
topics based upon the faculty's individual research interests. Extramural
grants and contracts support the thesis research of more than 50
graduate students in the Department of Biology, which hosts the
Tennessee Cooperative Fishery Research Unit, the only federally
funded research unit of its kind in the state. In addition, the
department works closely with another research unit, the Water Resources
Center of Excellence, which is also housed on campus.
Admission Requirements:
- Satisfactory test scores on the General Record Exam [1500 total on the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing portions with the analytical writing score converted from a scale of 0-6 to a scale of 0-800 (analytical writing score / 6 X 800)]
- Three letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts from your bachelor's institution and any institutions attended since that degree
- Grade Point Average on Bachelor's degree of at least 3.0 with undergraduate studies including at least 16 semester hours of biology or related life sciences courses
