Mathematics - Admission Requirements

The Master of Science degree program in Mathematics at Tennessee Tech offers three areas of concentration: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics. The program's moderate size encourages close contact between faculty and students, providing students a rare opportunity to tailor their studies based on background, interest and goals.

Admission Requirements:

• Satisfactory test scores on the General Record Exam (minimum 142 verbal reasoning portion, 151 on the quantitative reasoning portion and 2.5 on the analytical writing portion)
• Three letters of recommendation
• Official transcripts from your bachelor's institution and any institutions attended since that degree
• Grade Point Average on Bachelor's degree of at least 2.5
• International Applicants must also meet the English Language Requirement by providing test results on one of the following:
  • TOEFL--minimum IBT of 71
  • IELTS--minimum score of 5.5
  • PTE Academic--minimum score of 48
  • FLS Level 8
