Delta Gamma

"Do Good" was the motto that their founders adopted in 1873 at the Lewis School in Oxford, Mississippi, and it is the goal that Delta Gammas live by today. These three founders, Anna Boyd, Mary Comfort, and Eva Webb came together to find stronger ties of friendship. That friendship has grown into the sisterhood of 143 chapters nationally that over 160,000 Delta Gammas share today.

The Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Delta Gamma was chartered on November 8, 1980, based on the Delta Gamma philosophy which states that "Delta Gamma offers to women of all ages a rich heritage, a continuity based on the sound and tested principles of personal integrity, personal responsibility, and intellectual honesty."

Delta Gamma was the first to establish a foundation as a framework of operation for the fraternity's philanthropies. Delta Gamma's Foundation includes Service for Sight, scholarships, fellowships, and loans, and educational programming. The Epsilon Epsilon chapter raises money for the Foundation through Anchor Splash Competitions, and Bowl for Blindness tournaments. In addition to raising money for the philanthropy Epsilon Epsilon makes annual trips to the School for the Blind in Nashville, where they host parties and spend time with the children. Also on campus they pass out sight saving tips and participate in other Greek Organizations' philanthropic events. They also participate in community activities such as the Cookeville Christmas Parade, helping the Genesis House (a local women's shelter), and walking in the MS Walk-a-thon.
