Dietetics Option

The Didactic Program in Dietetics is an important gateway to completing the first step in becoming a Registered Dietician (R.D.), Licensed Dietician-Nutritionist (L.D.N.) and other professional certifications. To become an R.D. in Tennessee, you must:

  • Complete all DPD degree requirements
  • Complete a post-graduate dietetic internship approved by the American Dietetics Association
  • Pass the ADA Registration Exam

Successful completion of the DPD program at TTU allows students to apply to dietetic internships and/or graduate programs.
