This committee organizes the Big Sibs who help incoming freshmen adjust to Tennessee Tech. Students who have completed at least one semester at Tech may become Big Sibs. Members and Big Sibs are not expected to know the answers to every question, but are expected to know where to find the answers.

Chair Requirements:

  • Recruit Big Sibs.
  • Be available in the summer to assign Little Sibs.
  • Create, lead, and troubleshoot three retreats (two spring, one fall).
  • Match Big and Little Sibs.
  • Handle mailings (usually two or three) for Big Sibs, informing them of upcoming events.
  • Coordinate Big Sibs at the high-ACT registration.
  • Set up an Honors information table at all freshman and transfer registrations.
  • Give talks about the Big Sib Program at Honors Orientations (summer and fall).
  • Coording the ordering of Big Sib t-shirts.
