Honors Academic Scholarship (HAS)
The Honors Academic Scholarship (HAS)
This scholarship is available ONLY to students who are NOTofficial residents of the state of Tennessee. It covers the out-of-state portion of tuition and fees.

Please read before completing the HAS application form below:
- Prerequisites: 26 ACT, 3.5 high school GPA, out-of-state residency.
- The HAS requires completion of 60 hours of service each semester through the Honors Program Enrichment Options (HPEO).
- Award: Pays the difference between out-of-state and in-state tuition, effectively allowing out-of-state Honors students to pay in-state tuition. Maximum eligibility: eight (8) semesters.
- Maintenance Requirements: Take at least one Honors course each semester until all requirements for graduation in cursu honorum are completed, and maintain a 3.5 cumulative QPA each semester. Successfully complete HPEO obligations and commitments each semester. A cumulative GPA below 3.5 will result in permanent loss of the HAS, after the semester of grace (see below). Cumulative GPA falling below 3.1 will cause the permanent loss of the HAS.)
(Exception: The student's QPA may fall between 3.5 and 3.1 ONE TIME ONLY without loss of the HAS. This is called the semester of "grace." It is a one-time exception. Following the semester of grace, a cumulative GPA below 3.5 will result in permanent loss of the HAS.)
TO APPLY for the HONORS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP:
After applying for admission to TTU, do the following:
- apply for membership in the Honors Program ;
- download, complete and submit the Honors Academic Scholarship Application .
