Three publications keep students, alumni, and the Tech community informed about the Honors Program:

Fresh!  A newsletter written by and for Honors freshmen

 Fall 2011 Editor: TBA

Faculty Advisor: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Fresh! was originally created by Mel Goldsipe (in cursu honorum '98, now an editor at MIT Press) to address the questions and issues unique to first-year students in the Tech Honors Program.  This newsletter is sent to all the Honors freshmen, their Honors 1010 professors, and their Big Sibs and Peer Mentors. It is created and published entirely by freshmen, with Dr. Barnes and the previous year's editors serving in an advisory capacity. Usually Fresh! is published twice each semester. The first fall issue is created by the previous year's Fresh! editors in the summer to give to the Honors freshmen at their fall orientation.

Duties of the Editors:

  • Oversee copy, layout, editing, and proofreading.
  • Recruit staff, assign articles, and hold meetings.
  • Consult with committee chairs, directors, and other students for news and topics.
  • Present final copy to Honors Office for printing and mailing in a timely fashion.
  • Create the first issue of Fresh! for August of the following school year.
