Between her World Cultures and Business major with a concentration in German, the fitness classes she teaches, dance commitments, her current term as Honors Council Chair and ASG President, and her recent year of study abroad in Austria, TTU Honors student Katy Long seems to be on top of everything. With a little planning, she combines her major, her interest in dance, and her skills in leadership, with results that amaze us all.

Recent TTU Honors graduates Michelle Lowe (Biology, German, in cursu honorum, '08) and Wesley Willeford (Biology, Chemistry, in cursu honorum, '08), and current student James White (Biology, French, German) all had busy class schedules and active extracurricular involvements. But a passion for their majors drove them to add on another activity: undergraduate research.

Some students wait a couple of years before they really get involved on campus, but Honors biology and biochemistry major Amanda Nguy hit the ground running with leadership activities and research projects in her major.

Honors alum Stephanie Ward (SEED-Engl, Span, in cursu honorum, '05) is currently applying to law school to study international law. Following her graduation from TTU, she spent two years in Miami parlaying her organizing and language skills into a service career.

TTU Honors computer graduate Dave Lane transformed childhood fun into real environmental activism, pursuing his interests and using classroom skills to help lead a greener Honors Program and University.

Recent graduate Julianne Billington (Biol, in cursu honorum, '07) is the Honors Program's Queen of Service. Starting out as a group volunteer in high school Interact, Julianne went on to reinvent the Honors Program's Service Committee, taking charge of projects she cared about and combining her career goals with her love of serving others.
