QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or closely related areas with at least one degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent; at least five years of experience after the Ph.D. for applicants for associate professorship; expertise in Computer Engineering areas such as computer networks, parallel and distributed systems, sensor networks and/or computer security; distinguished research and publication record as well as demonstrated leadership ability in developing externally funded research; ability for excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; potential to develop graduate/undergraduate courses in computer engineering; and effective communication skills.

Desired: Some relevant teaching/industrial experience and potential to develop collaborative research.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Engineering; develop externally funded research; direct graduate students at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels; serve on committees at the departmental, college, and/or university level; engage in professional and public service; and advise students on academic curricula, professionalism, and career opportunities.

This position includes an initial appointment as the Stonecipher Faculty Fellow in Computer Engineering, which is provided by the endowment to augment the above position. The fellowship is for a period of four years and may be renewed based on performance. In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the Stonecipher Fellow will also be responsible for collaborative teaching and research as evidence by: collaborating with Computer Science and Decision Sciences and Management Departments to develop interdisciplinary research and education programs; organizing on-campus symposiums or workshops; collaborating on externally funded grant proposals; and disseminating and publishing research outcomes.

RANK AND SALARY:
Assistant or Associate Professor; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
