The Edit Course function allows you to:

  • Edit Course Offering Information (Course Name, Course Colors)
  • Rename tools for your class.
  • Edit the Navigation Bar (Edit links, change resolution, change template)
  • Manage your course files (Upload Files/Folders, Delete files)
  • Manage Your content (Add topics, Add Modules, Delete Course Material)
  • Copy Course Components (Copy components from course templates or other course offerings into your own course offering)

To access Edit Course, From your Course Homepage, select the Edit Course link at the top of the page in the red navigation bar.

You will then be taken to the main Edit Course page

Changing Course Information This page allows you to see and update general information and settings associated with this Course Offering. To access this page select the info button button. Here you can change your Course Offering Name, Course Offering Code, Sections, Start and End dates, and course Colors.

Changing the Toolbar

Here you can edit the names of available tools. Select the tools button link to access this page.

For example, if you would like to change the Content link on your NavBar to say Student Content, you would use this process.

Click the Edit to edit the display name of the tool.

Note: Deleting or adding tools will not add these tools to your NavBar. You have to go to the NavBars page under Edit Course to add or remove links from the navbar.

Changing the NavBar

This page allows you to edit links on your course NavBar, to access this page select the Navbars button button. Your NavBar has four NavBar Locations , which contain the actual links. Each NavBar Location is set up independently by clicking on the tabs or the gray image. Select which links you would like to appear in each area. Click Preview to view your NavBar before you click Save.

Managing Files

The Manage Files tool is the file management system for your course. Within this area, you can organize and upload files associated with your course offering. You can access this page by clicking the files button icon. Please see our section on Managing Files to use this option.

Managing Content

The content button content button allows you to change many aspects of your course content. Here you can Add Topics, Bulk Add Topics, Move Topics, Add Module, Jump to Topic, Edit Topic and Delete Topics. Please see our help section on Content to learn about the details of managing your course content.

Managing Course Components

This page is for copying components from course templates or other course offerings into this course offering. To access this page, select the components button button. Please select a 'source' course offering or course template under the Copy the selected course components from heading. Select the components that you want to copy by check marking the source's checkboxes. The details links will show you the individual items in the component. Click Copy to finish. Your current course offering will receive the copied components and is referred to as the 'target'. The 'source' course offering or course template refers to the current location of the components that you want to copy.
