It’s been twelve years since Julia Roberts won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Erin Brockovich in the film by the same name. A divorced single mother with three young children, Erin took a job as a file clerk with a law firm. It was while organizing papers on a pro bono real estate case that she first found medical records that would link Pacific Gas & Electric with the poisoning of water in the town of Hinkley, CA. Erin’s tenacity would lead to the largest direct action lawsuit in US history.
