The sessions will begin on Monday, Nov 3rd from 2:00-3:00pm in Clement Hall 215. Come join us for a one-hour demonstration and discussion about the different tools available and how you can use them in your classroom. While you are here, have a little something sweet.
- November 3rd – What tools are available for students to share files?
Description: We will look at a few tools that are free and online that will allow you and your students or student groups to share files with each other. (Avvenu, Drop.io, Yousendit.com) - November 10th – How can the students work on projects collaboratively without being in the same room?
Description: We will cover a few great tools that you can use with student groups to allow them to collaboratively work on a projects or case studies. These tools can also benefit the learning process because you could be involved with seeing how they are progressing and make sure they are staying on track. (Google Docs, Wikis, Zoho) - November 17th – What tools are available in iLearn to help with group management and collaboration?
Description: While there are a lot of tools that faculty can use outside of iLearn, we also want to bring you more information about how you can use groups in the iLearn system to release information, setup discussions and assignment dropboxes and even chat with them online. (Groups, Dropbox, Discussions, Chat, Restrictions by groups) - November 24th – What are some easy tools students can use to communicate about their project?
Description: Students are not always living in the dorms or even living in Cookeville these days when they are attending classes so we will show you some different communication tools you can utilize with your students as well as encourage them to use for group collaboration. (IM Clients, Scriblink, Skype, Elluminate, DimDim)
