1. Select Start >> Control Panel >> Tablet PC Settings
2. Select Calibrate >> Pen input
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
4. Select Calibrate >> Touch input
5. Follow the instructions on the screen

Navigate through browser windows and documents

Use your tablet pen to quickly move through a browser, a document, or a playlist without using a scroll bar. For example, an upward flick drags the page down and a downward flick drags the page up. When using a browser, a pen flick to the left moves you back one page and a pen flick to the right moves you forward one page.

Perform common shortcuts

Instead of tapping a menu command or a button on a toolbar to perform a common shortcut, such as copy, paste, undo, or delete, you can perform these shortcuts with a flick of your tablet pen.

Customize pen flicks

You can customize pen flicks to perform functions that you use on a regular basis. For example, if you frequently use keyboard shortcuts, such as CTRL+F5 or ALT+TAB, you can assign a pen flick action to do this for you.

1. Open Pen and Input Devices by tapping the Start button , tapping Control Panel, tapping Mobile PC, and then tapping Pen and Input Devices.

2. On the Flicks tab, select the Use flicks to perform common actions quickly and easily check box, choose Navigational flicks and editing flicks, and then tap Customize.

   In the Customize Flicks dialog box, a menu containing pen flick actions appears for each direction. You can select one action for each direction.

3. Do one of the following:

   • To change a pen flick action, select it on the menu.

   • To restore default pen flick actions, tap Restore defaults.

Custom Settings

To choose a line style

1. Open Windows Journal by tapping the Start button , typing Journal in the search box, and then tapping Windows Journal in the list of results.

2. Tap the File menu, and then tap Page Setup.

3. Tap the Style tab.

4. Under Lines, select the line style that you want to use.
   >Standard, Narrow and College Ruled Lines
   >Large and Small Grid
   >Blank (Clean Whiteboard)

5. Tap OK.

Create or modify a Journal template

You can easily modify an existing template. If you want to keep the existing template unchanged, you can save the modified version using a different file name.

1. Tap the File menu, and then tap Open.

2. In the Files of type box, tap Windows Journal Template (*.jtp).

3. If the template you want does not appear in the file list, browse through the Look in list for the folder that contains the template that you want to modify.

4. In the file list, tap the template, and then tap Open.

5. Make the changes that you want, and then tap Save As.

Track items in a Journal note using flags

 In Windows Journal, you can use flags to track and organize your most important items or manage all of your notes.

When you add flags to your notes, you can:

• Create and display a list of notes that have one or more flagged items.

• Use the flags to move through your notes.

  1. On the Standard toolbar, tap View Recent Notes.

  2. In the View notes list, tap With flags.

     A list of notes with one or more flags appears.

  3. Tap Next or Previous to browse through all of your flags.

• Search for flagged items in one or all of your notes.

• View all of your flagged items at one time.

What is Math Input Panel?

Math Input Panel uses the math recognizer that's built into Windows 7 to recognize handwritten math expressions. You can then insert the recognized math into a word-processing or computational program.

1. Open Math Input Panel by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Math Input Panel, and then, in the list of results, tap Math Input Panel.

2. Write a well-formed math expression in the writing area.

   The recognized math is shown in the preview area.

3. Make any necessary corrections to the math recognition. (To learn how, see "To make corrections" later in this topic.)

4. Tap Insert to put the recognized math into your word-processing or computational program.

   Note

   Math Input Panel can only insert math into programs that support Mathematical Markup Language (MathML).
