IE Minor

The department offers an Industrial Engineering minor. It includes courses in Engineering Economy (ISE 3100), Engineering Statistics (ISE 3200), and an emphasis area from one of the following:

Engineering Management focuses on engineering management principles necessary to manage technical projects. Required courses are Management and Organization Behavior (BMGT 3510), Engineering Leadership and Project Management (ISE 4000), and Engineering Design Internship (ISE 4510), or an engineering capstone course with a term-based project.

Quality Engineering provides the statistical tools necessary to improve products, services, and processes. Most of the Six Sigma tools are covered. Required courses are Design of Experiments (ISE 3220), Quality Control (ISE 4230), and Quality Engineering (ISE 4240).

Engineering Decision Science focuses on computer and mathematical modeling techniques to applications areas as diverse as chemical processes, computer systems, and other non-traditional production systems. Required courses are Operations Research (ISE 3400), Information Systems (ISE 3800), and Simulation of Industrial Systems (ISE 3410).

Manufacturing Engineering features lean and computer integrated manufacturing. Required courses are Process Improvement (ISE 3310), Production Control (ISE 4600), and Lean Production Systems (ISE 4650).
