
FALL 2007 CAMPUS SAFETY COURSE
- Undergraduate - LIST 4091 Special Topics: Campus Safety
- Graduate - CUED 6920 Special Topics: Campus Safety
Tennessee Technological University’s College of Education, Department of Curriculum & Instruction, School of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Extended Programs and Regional Development are pleased to offer a one-hour-credit course designed to enable participants to become informed about current issues and problems related to campus safety. The course will be presented in a seminar setting directed by persons who possess pertinent expertise. The seminar will be held September 5, 2007, from 1:00 - 4:30
p.m. at Derryberry Hall Auditorium. Additional meetings and class assignments will be required.
Course topics will include: Regulations Governing Environmental, Health and Safety Issues on College and University Campuses; Emergency Response; Building Safety, Fire Safety; Employee/Student/Visitor Safety; TTU Police Department; Active Shooter on Campus, Weapons on Campus; Robbie Nottingham Law; Bomb Threat Procedures; Protestors; Robbery; Personal Safety; Drugs and Alcohol; Family Planning in Disaster; and Crime Reporting. HOW DO I REGISTER?
Submit the following, no later than September 4, 2007, by mail to Extended Programs and Regional Development, Tennessee Technological University, Campus Box 5073, Cookeville, TN 38505 or by fax to (931) 372-3499:
- The completed Application/Registration form. (Please be sure to check either Undergraduate - LIST 4091 or Graduate - CUED 6920.)
- The completed PC 191 Fee Waiver form (or submit payment for the course to the Business Office).
- The completed Request for Official Transcript form for each institution attended (if you will be pursuing a graduate degree with TTU and are not currently admitted to the Graduate School).
- If you are not seeking a graduate degree or are currently admitted to the Graduate School, you are not required to submit anything further.
If you will be pursuing a graduate degree with TTU and are not currently admitted to the Graduate School, please also submit the following to the Graduate School, Tennessee Technological University, Campus Box 5036, Cookeville, TN 38505.
- Three completed Letter of Recommendation forms.
- Qualifying entrance exam score (MAT or GRE).
By filling out the Application/Registration form, you are registering for the class. At that point, you are committed to completing the requirements for admission. Also, failure to attend class does not constitute a withdrawal from the course. If for some reason you change your mind about participating, you must follow procedures to withdraw from the course by calling Melinda Bybee at (931) 372-3394. Otherwise, a grade will be assigned based on completed work.
