| Letter
from the Dean
Dear Colleagues,
On April 12, 2001, the new School of Interdisciplinary Studies
and Extended Programs and Regional Development (ISEE) was established at Tennessee Technological
University ISEE is both a beginning of numerous new programs as
well as the continuance of a very successful past as the Division
of Extended Education. On behalf of the many campus and community
partners who make our programs possible, we are pleased to present
the information provided on this web site.
ISEE functions as a connecting point between many diverse elements.
In the past, as the Division of Extended Education, we were able
to break through the spatial barriers of a physical campus and provide
access to education throughout the Upper Cumberland and surrounding
regions. Now as we move boldly into the new millennium, our means
of electronically delivering courses allow us to make education
available anytime, anyplace.
We are building on that successful past performance in our quest
for future performance excellence. As we support the campus
T-E-C-H
vision - of Technological Leadership, Enrollment Growth, Caring
Campus, and High Quality - our efforts are focused on providing
a more flexible
environment, interdisciplinary opportunities, innovative degrees/programs,
and rapid response to student needs. But, none of this would
be
possible without our countless partners who form the backbone
of a network committed to serving students. We are truly grateful
of
these many efforts.
We look forward to working with our many partners for a successful
future, as well as strive to serve students.
Sincerely,
Susan Elkins, Dean
