Paramedic Course

This course is offered annually with the application process beginning every spring. The introductory course starts every June and the full course starts every August. This course is 1025 hours in length and an additional 60 hours are added if the participant is required to take the introductory course.

Lecture hours: The paramedic course is divided into 425 hours of didactic and laboratory training and 600 hours of clinical training. The course is 3 semesters in length spread over 11 months.

  • Extended Skills (EMT-B upgrade to IV)
  • Heartsaver CPR
  • First Aid
  • EMS refresher courses

IMPORTANT NOTE: All students must have a background check completed before starting the clinical rotation. If anyone interested in this course has a potential problem in the background check, please talk with the director of the EMS programs (Dennis Parker) before enrolling in the course.

All classes are held at the Paramedic Classroom, which is at the South end of West Stadium.
