TTU Student and Alumni Email Upgrades Coming Soon
TTU students and alumni who have email accounts in TTU’s instance of Microsoft Live@edu will upgrade to Office 365 email during the week of August 19, 2013.
During the upgrade, you will have access to your TTU email, but there may be a brief downtime while accounts are being transitioned to Office 365 Education. Email will continue to be sent to TTU email accounts. Any device set to synchronize with a Live@edu account may receive authentication or connection errors during this time.
Because Microsoft’s Office 365 system does not include SkyDrive, an individual’s TTU Live@edu account will become two separate accounts after the upgrade – an Office 365 account used to access TTU email, and a personal Microsoft account that retains access to files stored in SkyDrive.
After the upgrade, TTU student email in Office 365 can be accessed on the Web at http://www.tntech.edu/studentemail/.
Users can log in with their same email address and the password previously used to access the TTU Live@edu account.
If you use SkyDrive to store and share documents and other files, you will be able to retain access to those files by logging in to your new personal Microsoft account using the same TTU email address and password at http://skydrive.live.com.
Keep in mind, changing your Office 365 password will not change your SkyDrive password, or vice versa. Password changes and resets must be done separately for each account.
Email will continue to serve as an official communication channel through which TTU administration, faculty, staff and other representatives will communicate with students regarding university business.
