In light of continuing threats of new computer worms, we would like to explain how you can be sure that your machine has all the necessary critical updates which are available from Microsoft. Please note if you are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you must have administrator privileges in order to accomplish these steps. This should be the case for most users. Please contact MicroSupport or your College Contact if you need additional assistance. Please note that in Windows XP, Service Pack 2, Critical Updates should be set to occur by default under the Security Center. See Service Pack 2 for more information.
Microsupport has been working to set all machines to do this automatically, but please follow the steps above to be sure your machine is fully protected.
