Moving your content to the TTU Streaming


TTU Streaming Server Home


To move your content from your PC to the streaming server you may use several methods.

From your office computer:
  • Right-click on My Computer
  • Select Map Network Drive
    from the floating menu.

 

  • Choose an unused drive letter, such as S:
  • Type the location:
  • Select Reconnect at logon if your work is ongoing.
  • Click Finish
  • Navigate to your specific folder.
  • Copy or move files as needed.

 

From your home:

Use an FTP program, such as WS_FTP (see www.ipswitch.com) to transfer files from your home computer to the streaming media server.

  • Connect to the streaming server: stream.tntech.edu
  • After you are connected, navigate to the appropriate streaming folder and then to your specific user folder.  WindowsMedia, or QuickTime
Using WS_FTP:
  • Open the program
  • Click New to create a new profile.
  • Give your profile a descriptive name
  • Type the host name: stream.tntech.edu
  • Select Automatic detect
  • Type ttu\ followed by your specific username,
    e.g., ttu\ewells
  • Click OK.

 

  • Type your password as requested in the pop-up window.
  • Navigate on the server (Remote Site) through the Media folders to your specific folder.
  • Navigate on your PC to the location of the media files.
  • Click on the arrow to transfer the files.
  • (If view is top/bottom, not left/right as below, click the Options button near the bottom and under the Display tab, deselect Alternate screen layout.)
  • Click Close to close the connection and Exit to exit the program.
