What if I find an error in the Online Catalog I would like to report?
If you are using the TTU Online Catalog and find something to report, you may send us an e-mail Susan LaFever. If you would like a report on the status of what we did, please give us your e-mail address. Examples of things we would like to know about are:- Typographical errors (Untied for united, etc.)
- Subject heading problems (Dead-ends; no cross-references)
- Location problems (you know something is somewhere else)
- Indexing problems ( a listing of 2 or 3 names that you know are the same person)

Honolulu Community CollegeWhat good are subject headings when you can do a keyword search?
Subject headings are good for limiting searches that might produce too many hits or hits that you do not want. For example, if you search for Computers you get over 1900 records. If you do a subject search on the same word, you get 421 (a lot less).
In addition, if you do a subject search, you get an index with extensions (e.g. Computers-Access control) added to the search term. These add-ons are called "subdivisions." They can be helpful in narrowing your search.
Subject headings are not always easy to use, but they may be helpful, if you are not getting what you want with a keyword search
