Jan. 24, 2007— Genesis- [Mali] Cheick Sissoko’s story of Genesis told from an African perspective, the film portrays the bitter rivalry between the brothers Jacob and Esau.
Jan. 31, 2007— Daresalam- [Chad] In a small Central African village, boyhood friends Djimi and Koni have come of age under a post-colonial government that levies crippling taxes and legally robs local farmers of their meager crops.
Feb. 7, 2007— Faat Kine- [ Senegal] Deceptively light domestic drama of a gas station operator.
Feb. 14, 2007— Shake Hands with the Devil- General Romeo Dallaire’s return to Rwanda and his account of the massacre of 1994.
Feb. 21, 2007— Sisters in Law- [Cameroon] Judge and prosecutor work to end child and spouse abuse.

Paper copies of frequently requested tax forms and instructions for 2006 are available in the Volpe Library.

3rd Annual Varsity Festival of Short Films (1/16/07)

Deadline for submission of films to the 3rd Annual Varsity Festival of Short Films is March 12, 2007. Students may submit multiple entries; the length of a film is to be no longer than 15 minutes.
There will be two awards presented at the screening [Screening Date: Friday, March 23 / Time: 7:00 pm / Place: Backdoor Playhouse] the Jurors' Choice Award and the Audience's Choice Award. Entries are to be submitted to the Media Center, Volpe Library.
