- For much information the internet is inexpensive, instantaneous, and simple - a wealth of
resources.
- However, when anyone can publish anything, finding the right site and evaluating the information
contained in that site requires a healthy measure of skepticism.
- This task is further complicated because many Web sites do not make it clear who or what
serves as the author or editor or publisher. This critical information that is taken for granted
in traditionally published sources is often hidden or missing from Web sites on the internet.
- Determining bias and reliability requires some detective work and much critical thinking.
Each Web site visited must be scrutinized carefully.
