Mechanical Engineering at Tech is known as a department that puts the fun in the fundamentals of engineering education. The Baja cars splashing mud and the Formula cars racing for speed catch your eye and show you that hands-on experiences and a high-quality education go hand-in-hand for mechanical engineers.
Experience and Learn
You can study power production, noise control, mechatronics, environmental clean-up, machine design and manufacturing and materials regulation and then take those lessons to industry with a co-op experience.
Ask and Answer
Students receive personal attention from 17 department faculty members. You’ll learn from an assortment of teaching techniques and practices, including classroom discussions, lab experiments and national competitions with design teams such as Autonomous Robots, Baja SAE, Formula SAE, Human Powered Submarine, and Moonbuggy.
Graduate and Succeed
TTU mechanical engineering graduates frequently find employment in the aerospace and automotive industries, government agencies, laboratories, manufacturing facilities and consulting firms.
