MoonBugy's Club Activities

The Tennessee Tech Moonbuggy's team was started in the fall semester of 1999. The goal of the team is to design, build and race a simulated lunar roving vehicle in the annual Great Moonbuggy Race at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The race was inspired by the development of the first lunar roving vehicle, which was designed and tested at Marshall Space Flight Center. The event challenges students to design and build a human-powered vehicle to address engineering problems similar to those actually faced by the original NASA lunar rover team.

The TTU's MIT-Moonbuggy 2011 pariticipated in the great moonbuggy race in the Marshall Space Flight which took place in Huntsville, Alabama on April 1-3, 2011..

TTU FSAE Club Activities

A handful of university professors got together 20 years ago to form an SAE student design competition that started out being called the Mini Indy. It has now morphed into an international competition for college of engineering students. It serves as an excellent training program for applying engineering theory to road and track automotives. These cars have to be built from the ground up each year. Designing, fabricating, machining, outsourcing, and marketing sponsorships to corporations and individuals are just a few of the components these students will delve into in the project of designing a high performance car.
