Bachelor of Music

Music majors at Tennessee Tech pursue the Bachelor of Music degree. The majority of our students select Music Education as their emphasis, but TTU also offers a concentration in Music Performance with options in Composition, Instrumental, Voice, Jazz or Piano. Through our ensemble program Tennessee Tech students have many opportunities to make music in concert and jazz bands, orchestras, choral ensembles, and the Golden Eagle Marching Band. All groups perform regularly on campus and often represent the University at regional and national music conferences.

Tennessee Tech University has been an accredited member National Association of Schools of Music since 1967.

Bachelor of Fine Arts

There are seven options offered within programs leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Tennessee Tech. The Art Education option is designed to prepare public school elementary, middle school, and high school art teachers. In the studio arts, one can major in Ceramics, Fibers, Glass, Metals, Painting, or Wood. Applied art classes in all the visual art studio disciplines are taught by nationally recognized artists in the chosen field.

Art Education, Painting, Art History, and Art Foundation courses are taught on the main Cookeville campus. Specialized Craft courses are taught at the Appalachian Center for Craft, a unique satellite campus on beautiful Center Hill Lake near Smithville.

Tennessee Tech University is an accredited member National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
