Kerry "Doc" Stone is known among Nashville musicians for his performing experience. he has performed for audiences that collectively add up to more than one million people. Stone has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University, where he studied with jazz great David Livingston.

Since his arrival in Nashville, he has performed with several popular recording artists including five-time Grammy Award winner jake Hess, the popular gospel singer. While a guitarist with the Grand Ole Opry, Doc performed with many popular recording and performing artists. He has also been an artist for Gibson, Peavey, and Aria guitar companies. Doc also recorded the acoustic guitar tracks for the movie Rainman. His Las Vegas show experience includes performances with Jimmy Dean, The Gatlin Brothers, and the Four Guys. While with the Grand Ole Opry, Doc's band, The Shenandoah Band, was hominated three years in a row as instrumental Group of the Year by the Country Music Association.

Doc has owned and operated his own music school for more than twenty years. His students have distinguished themselves in the music business with awards that range from CMA awards to Grammys His most successful student has been country singer Alan Jackson. The Southeastern Region, American Music Therapy Association has called on Doc to help with seminars that included banjo and mandolin instruction. For the past five years, Doc has taught guitar as the adjunct guitar professor at Tennessee Tech, a position which he greatly enjoys.
