Mr. Andrew William Smith is the Faculty Head of Tree House and Instructor of English, worrking with students in the New Hall North Environmental Village and teaching first-year writing and American Literature. He co-edits the English department’s CompTime Annual, works as the webzine editor of Interference.com, and hosts a weekly radio show on WTTU 88.5 FM every Monday night called “Teacher on the Radio.” Each summer, he is the “dean” of The Academy, a workshop tent at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. In 2010, he was awarded a QEP Award for Excellence for the Living Writers Project, an award he previously earned in 2008 with Mr. Mark Creter for their work on a Learning Community collaboration involving students enrolled simultaneously in first-year writing and Introduction to Theatre. Andrew serves on the advisory council of the Presbyterian Student Association, co-founded the worship collective Come ToGather (C2G), and currently studies homiletics part-time at Vanderbilt Divinity School. He has previously served as a faculty senator and the campus president for AAUP, the American Association of University Professors
