Frances Leann Taylor, B.A., M.A., Ed.s
The summer after graduating from high school I worked as a camp counselor for Easter Seal. I continued to work each summer for four summers ending as a Co Director. While achieving my Bachlor's degree in Elementary Education I also worked in the before and after school system as activity instructor eventually working my way to a Site Director. Once I completed my Bachelor's degree, I obtained my first teaching position as a second grade teacher in Putnam County Tennessee. I began working on my Master's degree in Library Science that lead me to a position in an elementary library in Putnam County. The work force in the school system perpetuated me into pursuing my Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I completed my Ed.s and immediately was hired as an Assistant Principal for a K-8 school. Serving in an administrative position opened doors for an interim Principal position which I secured before becoming a full time Principal of a K-8 school. In conjunction with my professional career I am also a wife and mother. My husband and I have been blessed with three daughters ages 14, 10 and 4. The demanding responsibility of an administrator prompted a change in my priorities and I chose a path that lead me back to the classroom and eventually back to an elementary library. I had a professional opportunity that opened doors to the world of higher education at which I am currently employed as an Instructor for Tennessee Technological University teaching the reading courses for the Elementary Education majors along with pursuing my PH.D in literacy.
