Dr. Holly Anthony teaches math content courses (MATH 1410, MATH 1420) for preservice elementary teachers, and mathematics methods courses (SEED 4122, SEED 4422) for preservice secondary mathematics teachers. She also teaches graduate courses in curriculum and instruction, as well as qualitative research courses, program planning/evaluation, and STEM education courses in the doctoral program. She is the concentration leader for the STEM Education concentration in the Ph.D. in Exceptional Learning program.

Dr. Anthony has previously taught mathematics in public and private middle and high schools in Tennessee, Georgia, Australia, and South Africa. She is an avid grant writer who designs/delivers professional development opportunities for K-12 mathematics teachers. She currently serves on the TN PARCC committee that is redesigning the TN Math/ELA assessments for K-12. She is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (Reviewer), the Tennessee Mathematics Teachers Association (President), the Middle Tennessee Mathematics Teachers Association (Scholarship Chair), and other mathematics and STEM-related organizations. Her research interests include STEM education, the professional development of teachers, and the implementation of context-based curricular materials. She holds a B.S. (Mathematics) and an M.Ed. (Educational Leadership) from Middle Tennessee State University, and a Ph.D. (Mathematics Education) from the University of Georgia. She spends her leisure time hiking and traveling with her husband, Tim.
