I am originally from a small harbor town on the south coast of England called Newhaven . I got my BSc in Mathematics and Physics and PhD in Physics in England (Keele and Sussex respectively). I did 2 years as a post-doc in nuclear physics at Vanderbilt University , then spent 6 years as a staff scientist at the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble , France. I came to TTU in January 1991 and since then have gradually changed my focus from nuclear physics to physics education.
