At Tennessee Tech, I teach freshman composition courses Writing I & II.
I received my PhD in May of 2013 from Stony Brook University on Long Island. There I completed a dissertation on representations of eighteenth-century female cross-dressers in British literature. My specializations include the literature of the long eighteenth century, women's and gender studies, queer theory, film studies, and academic writing.
I have been teaching Freshman Composition courses since I started my MA degree at Brooklyn College in 2005. I continued teaching introductory and intermediate writing workshops at Stony Brook and at Suffolk County Community College, also on Long Island. My teaching methods focus on the writing process, writing across the curriculum, and multi-modal writing.
