Crime Stoppers
To report a crime and remain anonymous, call the Cookeville/Putnam
Area Crime Stoppers at 520-STOP (520-7867). Crime Stoppers pays rewards
up to $1,000 and you don't have to reveal your name.
The Cookeville/Putnam area Crime Stoppers Program is a part
of the Cookeville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information that
will solve featured unsolved crimes and leads
to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.
Crime Stoppers syndicates with the Herald-Citizen newspaper, along
with two local radio stations, Kicks 106.9 and The Country Giant
94.7. The Herald-Citizen features the Crime of the Week and publishes
photographs when available.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for clues called into 520-STOP
on any wanted person, stolen property or drugs. Callers remain anonymous;
they will only be known by the code number they are assigned. Crime
Stoppers is a means for the public, the media, and law enforcement
to work together to solve crime.
Crime Stoppers also promotes the local "Not in My School" program
for students to report crimes within the schools such as drugs, weapons,
or any violation of the law.
