Parent Orientation is part of the two-day freshman SOAR sessions. This program is a wonderful opportunity to become familiar with Tennessee Tech's campus, faculty, staff and students. These two days will include events such as meetings with departmental faculty, small group sessions with a Student Orientation Assistant (SOA), and panel discussions. Below is a brief outline of the two-day Parent Orientation session. Students and guests will receive a detailed itinerary at SOAR check-in.

*Students are required to attend all parts of the SOAR program in order to register for Fall classes and are asked to select an available date in which they can fully participate in all the program's activities.
Day 1
*Please be aware that lunch is NOT provided on the first day. SOAR attendees need to arrive fed and ready to participate.
- SOAR On Campus Lodging (if selected during SOAR registration) Check-In begins at 11:00 am central time
- SOAR Check-In begins at 12:00 pm central time
- Opening Meeting
- Meet with departmental faculty
- Discuss classes for Fall semester
- Informational session
- Dinner
- Evening meetings and activities (Parents/Guests will be finished by ~7:00 pm central; Students will be finished by ~9:00 pm central)
Day 2
- Breakfast at 8:00 am central time
- Informational sessions
- Lunch
- Registration information sessions
- Advisement/Registration
*Please plan to be here until 4:30 pm central time on Day 2. Registration times vary based on academic departments so we ask students and guests to plan accordingly.
