shuttle stops

Parking

Additional parking near the Hoop will be available near the intramural fields, off Willow Ave., across from the Hoop.

Shuttle service

Transportation to the Hoop will be provided via a campus shuttle service, with about a dozen pick up points across campus. The shuttle service will begin at 8 a.m., running continuously until the ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. The shuttles will run after the ceremony as well, until the last guests have left the reception.

Attire

The TTU bookstore in the RUC is offering a special edition polo shirt for TTU employees who want to wear their purple pride at the investiture ceremony. Short-sleeved, purple mens and womens polos with the TTU logo are available in the bookstore for under $25. Show your Tech ID to receive the discount. The polo is not required attire, but wear purple and gold if you can.

Schedule

Participants should check in at 8:30 a.m. See check-in locations below. Robing will begin at 8:45 a.m. Marshals and hostesses will assist. Procession line up will begin at 9 a.m.

Attire

Academic regalia is required for official delegates and TTU faculty and administrators serving as delegates. Platform guests may wear academic regalia or a black suit. Delegates must provide their own regalia.

Check-in locations for participants in the investiture procession

Delegates and TTU deans: Eagles’ Nest, 4th level, Hooper Eblen Center

Platform party: Men’s locker room off the tunnel, floor level, Hooper Eblen Center

TTU emeriti faculty: Women’s locker room off the tunnel, floor level, Hooper Eblen Center

TTU academic and administrative officers: Basketball Office Suite, 4th level, Hooper Eblen Center (across from Eagles’ Nest)

TTU faculty and administrative staff: Tunnel, floor level, Hooper Eblen Center

Oldham family: A shuttle for family members will leave Walton House at 8:45 a.m. Those not traveling with the family from Walton House should meet at 9 a.m. in the Women’s locker room off the tunnel, floor level, of the Hooper Eblen Center.

There is a direct entrance to the tunnel from McGee Blvd.

Directions to Eagles' Nest

Enter at the east entrance to Hooper Eblen Center, from McGee Blvd, level 3, at the lobby with the ticket counter and trophy cases. There is an elevator to the right. Take the elevator to level 4 and turn left to the Eagles' Nest as you exit the elevator.

Parking

Parking will be reserved on McGee Blvd. or in the South lot off McGee Blvd., between the soccer field and the Hooper Eblen Center, for delegates of other universities and learned societies, TTU emeriti faculty, the Oldham family and members of the platform party. Only individuals with reserved parking will receive a parking pass prior to the ceremony. Print the pass and bring it with you to access the reserved parking areas.

Directions to Hooper Eblen Center, 1100 McGee Blvd., Cookeville, Tenn.

From I-40 East (Crossville, Knoxville, etc): Take Exit 286 and turn right on South Willow Ave. (TN 135 N). Continue on Willow Ave. about 3 miles. Turn right into campus on University Drive. Take the first left onto McGee Blvd.

From I-40 West (Lebanon, Nashville, etc): Take Exit 286 and turn left on South Willow Ave. (TN 135 N). Continue on Willow Ave. about 3 miles. Turn right into campus on University Drive. Take the first left onto McGee Blvd.

From Hwy 111 South (Sparta, Chattanooga, etc): Take the Cookeville/Algood exit, just past mile marker 7. Turn left onto East 10th St. and continue on East 10th St. about 2 miles. Turn right onto North Washington Ave., then turn left at the next intersection onto East 12th St. Continue on East 12th St. for about a mile, then turn left onto McGee Blvd.

From I-40 North (Livingston, Byrdstown, etc): Take the Cookeville/Algood exit, just past mile marker 8. Turn right onto East 10th St. and continue on East 10th St. about 2 miles. Turn right onto North Washington Ave., then turn left at the next intersection onto East 12th St. Continue on East 12th St. for about a mile, then turn left onto McGee Blvd.
