The EPAs serve in one of six areas: glass, ceramics, fibers, metals, wood or arts administration. The program provides post-graduate artists an opportunity to develop their skills in a creative residential environment. The EPAs also broaden student and faculty awareness of new approaches and techniques.
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor of fine arts degree or equivalent experience in their chosen medium. A master of fine arts degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Duties may include teaching, critiques or exhibition work. The EPAs are expected to produce a significant body of studio work.
The Appalachian Center for Crafts offers educational opportunities for everyone from novices to experienced artisans through its bachelor's degree, certificate and workshop programs. Faculty members are nationally recognized in their fields.
