Symphony Band in Concert at TTU

The symphony band, directed by Joseph Hermann, will present a concert of march-type pieces at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Tennessee Technological University.

The concert to be held in the Wattenbarger Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building, will feature the "Overture to Raymond" and various other pieces. "The whole concert is done in the John Phillip Sousa style at the turn of the century," Hermann said.

The program will also include guest performances by Charles Decker on trumpet, Kevin Chiarizzio on trombone, and lyric tenor Frederick Kennedy will perform "La Donna E Mobile" by Verdi and "O Sole Mio" by Di Capua. Decker's performance will feature "Sounds on the Hudson" and a duet with Chiarizzio on "Cousins" by Herbert L. Clarke. Chiarizzio will also perform "Atlantic Zephyrs."

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call Hermann at 372-3165.
