Alexander Technique expert to give presentations on April 13, 14

The Alexander Technique is a method used by musicians, athletes, and presenters to improve their physical performance and decrease their anxiety. John Henes, a musician, performer, and master teacher who has been certified in the Alexander Technique, will be presenting the workshops that are set to take place on Monday and Tuesday, April 13 and 14. There will be an open lecture entitled “Demonstration of Alexander Technique and Its Applications” on Monday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Derryberry Hall Auditorium. On Tuesday, April 14, there will be a class for music majors and other university students entitled “The Alexander Technique applied to improving playing skills and reducing performance anxiety levels” at 11 a.m. in Wattenbarger Auditorium. Joan Derryberry Art Gallery
The BFA Juried Exhibit, featuring various media juried by Craig Nutt, will be on display from Monday, April 13 until May 1.

Appalachian Center for Craft
The Faculty: Brady, Brock, Campbell, Coogan & Pitelka, A Variety of Contemporary Craft Media exhibit, will be on display in Gallery Two until April 14.

The Appalachian Center for Craft is located six miles off Hwy. 56 (Interstate 40, Exit 273) near Smithville. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Joan Derryberry Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the University Center and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
