Appalachian Center for Craft exhibit showcases conceptual textiles, collages

thumb_TuggleImageDeborah Tuggle exhibits her bachelor of fine arts thesis work in North Windows Gallery of the Appalachian Center for Craft from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6.

"Windfall" will showcase conceptual textiles and collages that are inspired by nature and explore the passage of time and the memory of place. As an artist, Tuggle said she is "particularly drawn to ordinary, often overlooked, objects that remember their history in terms of use and misuse...things that exist in the space between beauty and nothingness."

The artist will be available during an opening reception on Saturday, Dec. 4, between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Gallery Two.

The Appalachian Center for Craft is located at 1560 Craft Center Drive, Smithville, approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at Exit 273 (Smithville/McMinnville). Go south on Highway 56; turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge. This drive leads to the Craft Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
