thumb PerryPerry Price, director of education at the American Craft Council in Minneapolis, will be at Tennessee Tech University Nov. 12.

Price will give a lecture, “Crafting/Making/Manufacturing: Toward a new Understanding of Production in American Material Culture,” at 4:30 p.m. in Johnson Hall Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Price will discuss how the means of production indicate about American cultural biases toward the role of the skilled laborer and the machine as, increasingly, objects are made by machine processes. He will also discuss how people choose to view and live with everyday objects.

The event is sponsored by TTU’s Center Stage, which is made possible by the general education fund.
