Final plans are being made for Tennessee Tech University and the Appalachian Center for Craft’s annual celebration of art, wine, and food hosted by Spankies Restaurant in Cookeville on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Bacchanal 2008 is set from 1 to 5 p.m., and the live auction kicks off at 2:30 p.m.
Guests will be able to feast on a delicious cocktail buffet, taste a variety wines and specialty beers, enjoy live music, and join in the exciting auction of art and fine craft in support of TTU’s art students and programs.
Reservations are $40 per person (until Friday, Oct. 24) and $45 at the door. Guests receive commemorative wine and pint glasses and complimentary valet parking.
“The art programs at TTU and the Craft Center are producing awarding-winning young artists and educators,” said Ward Doubet, director of the Appalachian Center for Craft and Bacchanal committee chairman.
“Our dedicated supporters’ generous donations of artwork, funds, and in-kind products and services, along with the time and talents of our committee members, are indispensable. The Bacchanal is an excellent partnership of the community and university that provides an enormous contribution to our students’ opportunities and successes,” he continued.
Jane Dudney Roberts, promotions and development manager at the Craft Center and Bacchanal coordinator, agreed. “It is essential to recognize our wonderful donors who have been so generous and supportive of TTU art students and the Bacchanal,” she said.
