Internationally renowned artist Curtiss Brock has already donated this original, hand-blown glass lamp to the 2010 auction. Brock is head of the glass department at TTU’s Appalachian Center for Craft.
The art-party of the fall season, Bacchanal: A Celebration of Art, Wine & Food is planned for Sunday, Oct. 24, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The popular scholarship fundraiser is presented by the Appalachian Center for Craft and Tennessee Tech University and is hosted by Spankies Restaurant in Cookeville.

“The Bacchanal celebrates our artist-rich community and supports emerging artist students through scholarship opportunities,” said Beth Smith, Bacchanal coordinator and program manager at the Appalachian Center for Craft. “Amazing, original works of art and fine craft are donated by generous artists throughout the region to the annual Bacchanal auction.”

The Sunday afternoon event includes wine and beer tasting, a lavish cocktail buffet, live jazz and, of course, the rousing live auction of art and fine craft.

Reservations are $40 per person in advance until Friday, Oct. 22, and $45 at the door on the day of the Bacchanal.
