Bacchanal art auction is coming soon
Get ready to bid! Bacchanal 2011: A Celebration of Art, Wine & Food will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, hosted by Spankies Restaurant in Cookeville. The popular annual event supports scholarships and programs for art students at Tennessee Tech University and the Appalachian Center for Craft.
Guests will enjoy the soothing sounds of jazz musician John Richards while indulging on the extensive cocktail buffet, tasting a variety of wines and specialty beers, and browsing the selection of art and fine craft available during the live auction.
Reservations are $45 per person until Friday, Oct. 21, and $55 at the door. Guests also receive complimentary valet parking and commemorative wine and pint glasses.
“We are so grateful for the incredible generosity of local businesses, artists, individual supporters and the university community,” said Ward Doubet, director of TTU’s Appalachian Center for Craft and Bacchanal committee chairperson. “Their support of Bacchanal helps provide more opportunities for scholarships and unique programming for our art majors.”
“It is impossible to thank our devoted donors enough for all they do,” said Beth Smith, Bacchanal coordinator and marketing and program manager at the Craft Center. “Every year, they continually show their commitment to the success of the event and its mission of supporting art students and their education.”
“This year we introduced a new donor level, Platinum Underwriters, and those are Derek & Diana Baranowski, Dr. Spencer Madell, and Swallows-Newman Insurance Agency.”
“This year’s Underwriters are Budweiser of Cookeville, Horizon Wine & Spirits, Spankies Restaurant. Our Patrons are Cravens & Co. Wealth Management and Wimberly Lawson Wright Daves & Jones,” she said.
