Bell Inauguration to Showcase Campus, Set Tone for Future

Inaugural events for Tennessee Tech University's eighth president, Bob Bell, have been scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 5, through Sunday, Oct. 8, to recognize and honor the new president and first lady, Gloria Bell.

Organizers welcome community attendance at the public celebrations and ceremonies, which include the investiture ceremony, a free luncheon, an open house at the president's home, as well as art and history exhibits.

"The inauguration is a great opportunity to showcase Tennessee Tech and to tell the 'Tech story' in a way that gives us the historical perspective of the university, but also shows us who we are now and where we're going," said Richard Rand, a TTU associate professor and chairperson of the inauguration activities.

Community members are invited to join the campus for the scheduled events:

Thursday, Oct. 5

Friday, Oct. 6

Sunday, Oct. 8

Tennessee Tech offices will be closed Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and day classes have been canceled.
