BFA exhibit by Bethany Kolp to be on dispaly at Craft Center April 7-13

A BFA exhibition of fibers by Bethany Kolp titled “The Four Loves” will be on display April 7-13 in Gallery One of the Appalachian Center for Craft.

In her senior thesis exhibition, Kolp uses quilts to express the relationships we all share with family, friends, lovers and the spiritual world.

These four wall-sized, functional art-quilts are hand-dyed and screen-printed, and explore various surface design techniques through bold, saturated colors and stimulating textures.

Inspired by the works of Gee’s Bend Quilts, C.S. Lewis, Romare Bearden and Kolp’s own experiences, the show relates to a wide range of people on a very personal level.
A reception for the artist is set for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, in Gallery One of the Appalachian Center for Craft.

The Appalachian Center for Craft, a satellite campus of TTU, is located approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at Exit 273 (Smithville / McMinnville). Go south on Highway 56, and turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge. This drive leads to the Craft Center.
