thumb Kear-WoodJordan Kear, of Townsend, will host his senior thesis show at Tennessee Tech University’s Appalachian Center for Craft Dec. 10-16.

Kear’s show, From the Neck Up, is a series of sculptures designed to demonstrate the versatility of wood. His art emphasizes that pieces of wood, like human fingerprints, are all different from each other.

Kear’s work will be on display in the Craft Center’s Gallery One. There will be a reception with the artist from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13.

All TTU art students are required to host a solo show as their culminating academic experience before graduating with their bachelor of fine arts degree.

The Craft Center will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Monday, Dec. 23. It will reopen Thursday, Jan. 2.

The Craft Center is located approximately six miles off Interstate 40 at exit 273, Smithville/McMinnville. Go south on state Route 56 and turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge. This drive leads to the Craft Center.
