thumb BrassArtsThe Brass Arts Quintet at Tennessee Tech University will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 2, in Wattenbarger Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building.

The concert will highlight the best abilities of each quintet member and give each a chance to “show off” a bit.

“As brass players, we love playing together in the quintet, but it is always fun to get a chance to step out front,” said trombonist and quintet leader Joshua Hauser. “This should be a fun and varied performance that everyone will enjoy.”

Charles Decker, TTU trumpet professor, will perform Herbert L. Clarke’s famous cornet solo, “The Debutante.”

TTU trumpet professor Chris McCormick will take the front of the stage to perform his rendition of “Amazing Grace,” and horn professor Greg Danner will be at the forefront during Gilbert Vinter’s “Hunter’s Moon.”

Hauser will be featured during a set of variations of “76 Trombones” from The Music Man. Winston Morris will play his interpretation of the classic tune, “Deep River,” on tuba.

The Bryan Fine Arts Building is located at 1150 N. Dixie Ave., Cookeville.
